Haflingers for sale
When we got acquainted with the Haflinger breed, we fell in love with these clever, kind, beautiful horses! We had a dream to create a farm in Russia to breed these beautiful sunny horses. A few years ago our dream came true: we brought four thoroughbred Haflingers from Germany from Kiefferhof stable.

The tribal stallion Akitan (DE 443430471105) and three pregnant mares, covered in Germany by stallion Stano (DE 481830051209), became the founders of the stable "Sunny horses". New foals are born annually and as of the start of 2019 we have 11 Haflingers in our stable! All our horses are registered in the German Rheinisches Pferdestammbuch E.V., chipped with German birth-chips and have German passports.

What to look for
when buying a horse

When you decide to buy a horse, take this decision seriously and responsibly. It is worth immediately taking into account all the details and little things, so that after the transaction you don't suddenly find unpleasant omissions. If you do not understand anything about horses, invite a competent person who is not interested in buying this particular horse.

First, inspect the stable as a whole. Assess the conditions in which animals are kept: how carefully they are looked after, what they eat, and in what condition their stalls are. The stable must be sufficiently light, because the content in the darkness spoils the vision of horses. Inspect the horse that you like. During the inspection it should not be nervous and show aggression. Find out the cause of the scars if you suddenly find them on the animal's body. Thoroughly inspect the feet and hooves. After that, ask to bring the horse to the arena to evaluate it on the cord and under the saddle.

Pay special attention to the thoroughbred passport and the veterinary certificate. If the horse suits you in all respects, you can safely move to the next stage - the conclusion of the contract of sale. Do not forget that all documents relating to the horse are transferred to the new owner after the sale. In order to transport the horse to its new home, book a convenient horse-drawn carriage.

Horse maintenance

If you buy a horse for your own stables, you most likely have an experience of keeping horses. If not, then you should think before purchasing about where and how you will keep the horse.

The stable must be near your home so that you can come there at any time. On the other hand, it is ideal when the stable is surrounded by forests and fields, where you can ride your favorite horse. There must be a parade ground and a cord circle on the stables.

To make the horse feel comfortable, its stall should be spacious enough - at least four meters in length and in width. The floor of the stables can be concrete, but you must put fresh sawdust on top of it. The stables should be cleaned every day, the dung and all the dirty sawdust should be taken out.

Think carefully about your horse's diet. Do not forget to give clean water to your horse three times a day. Before and after lunch leave the horse to stand in the stall for an hour.
Calculate the price of your horse's idle time in advance. It will include stall rent, food, grooms, veterinarian and horseman services. When choosing a stable, pay attention to the condition of living of other animals, how clean, well-groomed and well-fed they are. Most likely, your horse will be treated the same way.

To build relationships with your new horse and make friends, spend as much time together as possible. Come to it at least four times a week, devote it a weekend, take care of it yourself - cleanse, saddle, harness. After walks, if it is not winter time, wash your horse. All this will help you become true friends! If you are not ready to devote so much time to a horse, perhaps you should abandon its purchase and just occasionally enjoy yourself horseback riding at the rent office.
Find somebody who in your absence will regularly work out your horse. In advance, find out who will do this, and wheather you are ready to entrust your pet to this person. In any case, do not allow your horse to be rented, especially without your knowledge! To better understand how the stables are treated with your horse, come there unexpectedly, even occasionally.

Following these simple tips, you will competently prepare for the purchase and maintenance of the horse. Remember that the main thing is a sincere love for your big four-footed friend and taking care of him. Feeling it, the horse will necessarily respond and will be attached to you with all its big and kind heart!
